Nick Keir is a fine singer songwriter and instrumentalist who is perhaps better known for his work with Scottish folk band The McCalmans. On this CD he ably demonstrates his considerable talents with a collection featuring mainly his own songs. Nick writes, "it represents 30 years in the business, from Finn mac Cuill via 7:84 Theatre to 22 years in the McCalmans. I've always written songs with a strong sense of place, which reveal my feelings for Scotland with all its glories and imperfections. While I love to write songs about Scotland's history, I've now incorporated modern songs on ‘All Over This Town’ that address contemporary issues and emotions but have their roots firmly in Scotland".
