Here is a photograph of Jimmie with Steve Benbow on his website.

Above is the first recording by either Robin or Jimmie that I have been able to verify (meaning actually in my collection—see below)—pre-dating Robin's first recording by some four months. Jimmie primarily provides instrumental backing, as well as harmony (backing) vocals on several tracks—heard most prominently on Derby Ram. Below are other [reported] early recordings with Jimmie Macgregor.

Jimmie Macgregor with The City Ramblers
Round and Round the Picket Line c/w Nine Hundred Miles
TOPIC TRC101  Released May, 1956**

The Ramblers were: Russell Quaye; Shirley Bland; Eric Bunyan; Vic Pitt; Bobby Taylor; JIMMIE MACGREGOR

I found the reference to this (above) release on-line, but cannot verify if Jimmie was actually on this recording. I have tried to track down other "City Rambler's" recordings, but the only one that found (in my collection), doesn't include Jimmie.

[January 2007] Below is information on another "City Rambler's" single. This information comes from “bigJ”, via Mudcat Digital Tradition.
